As we come together at the dawn of a new season, we mark more than the simple turning of a calendar; we stand ready to hoist our sails and embrace the fresh winds of opportunity that lie ahead. A fun packed season is already in motion.
We extend a most sincere welcome to our newest of members. You join not simply a club, but a proud tradition — a harbor built on camaraderie, activities, volunteerism and mutual respect. May you quickly find as I have that the strength of Spray Beach Yacht Club lies not in its docks, boats or buildings; but, in the character of our members. New members are the lifeblood of our club and I ask that each of us recommend friends, family and neighbors to our SBYC lifestyle that we look forward to rejoining each season.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation, a special celebration is planned for this summer. This season sets a full and active course—honoring our traditions, embracing new experiences and strengthening the friendships that define our club. Sailing, regattas, fishing tournaments, boating, golf outings, social gatherings and a wide array of entertainment events promise a vibrant and engaging year ahead.
Our Junior Program stands ready to shape the next generation — teaching not only the skill of sailing, but the values of responsibility, teamwork, and confidence. Our Juniors are the rising stars upon which our future depends.
In the weeks ahead, detailed schedules and announcements will follow. I encourage each of you to participate fully. Let’s continue to make the most of all these opportunities. Your enthusiasm is our wind. Your volunteerism is our keel. Your presence is the steady light that guides us home and I eagerly anticipate welcoming each of you back to the club this season.
